How to install a smart water meter correctly
Release time:
Feb 20,2025
Necessary straight pipe sections or equivalent rectifiers should be installed upstream and downstream of the water meter.
1. Choose the correct caliber for the smart water meter;
2. Intelligent water meter horizontal device, with the exterior facing upwards, and the direction of the arrow on the case is the same as the direction of water flow. The orientation of the device should avoid exposure to sunlight, flooding, freezing, and pollution, and facilitate disassembly and meter reading. Newly installed pipelines must be cleaned of sand, gravel, hemp fibers, and other debris before installing water meters to avoid water meter malfunctions;
3. The upstream and downstream valves of the smart water meter should be fully opened during use;
4. Necessary straight pipe sections or equivalent rectifiers should be installed upstream and downstream of the water meter. The length of the upstream straight pipe section should not be less than 10D, and the length of the downstream straight pipe section should not be less than 5D (D is the nominal diameter of the water meter). For the vortex phenomenon caused by bent pipes or centrifugal pumps, a rectifier must be installed in front of the straight pipe section;
5. When installing an intelligent water meter, attention should be paid to the outlet of the downstream pipeline of the water meter being at least 0.5m higher than the water meter, in order to prevent the meter from measuring incorrectly due to a lack of water flow in the pipeline;
6. The water meter has excellent anti clogging performance, but it is sensitive to the accumulation of sediment and weeds in the pipeline. It should be avoided as much as possible during use. If there is sediment and weeds in the pipeline, they should be sorted out in a timely manner, otherwise it will affect the normal measurement of the water meter.
